Result Sunday: Enumclaw’s Kasey Kahne started 29th and finished ninth in the rain-shortened LifeLock 400 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
Race highlights: Kasey Kahne was 35th and one lap down after having a tire problem on lap 108 and then making a pit stop under green just after the midpoint of the race. With heavy rain and lighting nearby, NASCAR waved the second red flag of the race on lap 149, stopping action for more than two hours. After racing restarted, with a shortened 210 laps instead of 267, three crashes sent nearly a dozen drivers scrambling to fix their cars and Kasey Kahne cruising into the top 10. It was his sixth top-10 finish of the season and his first at Kansas.
Point tracker: Kasey Kahne remained 22nd in Nextel Cup standings with 2,728 points.
