Tracking Kasey Kahne
Sunday result: Enumclaw’s Kasey Kahne started 14th and finished 32nd in the Dodge Dealers 400 at Dover International Speedway in Dover, Del.
Race highlights: Kasey Kahne was running about 18th when Kurt Busch tagged the outside wall on lap 386 and took out a dozen cars in the ensuing crash. As Busch slid back down the track, Kasey Kahne smashed into the rear of his car while trying to avoid the wrecks. The crashes brought out the second red flag of the race.
Point tracker: Kasey Kahne remained 22nd in Nextel Cup standings with 2,590 points.
On the horizon: Nextel Cup drivers head to Kansas City, Kan., for the LifeLock 400 at Kansas Speedway.
Kasey Kahne’s take: “We just got caught up in the wreck. It happened up near the front, so the fact we had handling problems most of the day wasn’t the reason we were involved. We started off pretty good, but on the long runs the car was too tight and wouldn’t turn in the corners. It was a long day that ended a bit short for us.”
