Kahne, Sadler Qualify in Top 5
For the first time since the Bristol spring race both Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler will start in the top 5 of a Nextel Cup race. Both posted fast practice times with Kasey Kahne leading the field. Kasey Kahne held the top spot during qualifying as well but the 16 of Greg Biffle and the 24 of Jeff Gordon both bested his time. Track temps being lower at the the time of their runs did however play a factor. Having both Kasey Kahne and Sadler starting in the front of the field should be a boost to all Gillett Evernham fans seeing as though track position is important at Michigan due to a history of long green flag runs. Let’s just hope good practice and qualifying runs translate into a good race run for both the 9 and 19.
